Development of DCT software for the AMG SLS super sports car
Sports car maker AMG has used Silver and TestWeaver
to validate and iteratively improve the control software of the AMG Speedshift DCT.
Silver was used to build the virtual DCT TCU and to run it
in closed loop with a simulated vehicle model on Windows PCs (virtual transmission-in-the-loop).
The vehicle model was developed by QTronic, based on the
multi-domain modelling language Modelica.
For the large coverage test of the DCT software, Silver was driven by thousands
of scenarios automatically generated by TestWeaver.
The systematic and comprehensive analysis of the possible system conditions is only
possible in simulation and was an important complement to the other test and quality
assurance measures, such as test benches and prototype tests.
Furthermore, AMG uses Silver virtual TCUs to build up engine test rigs for RDE simulations.
